FPUU Live Auction, March 24, 2007

Fine Art and Other Treasurers with a silent and live featured auctions

The “Fine Art and Other Treasures” Auction was held at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Kennebunk on Saturday, March 24th at 6:30 PM.  This first of what organizer and Church treasurer Eric Clough hopes will become an annual event begins with gourmet desserts, grab bags and a silent auction.  The silent auction items were donated by local merchants and church members and include a sailboat cruise, jewelry, gift certificates for dinners, merchandise from local shops, fuel oil and fine art.

Ki Leffler, auctioneer, is contributing her wit and charm to the live auction portion of the evening.  Among the items that she will bring to the podium are vacation weeks in Maine cottages, a coveted Maine quilt, and fine art pieces.  Over 50 local artists, who are contributing 40% of the proceeds from their sales to the Church, are offering pieces in oil, watercolor, pastel and other mediums for the event. The list of  artists participating include our fine art coordinator and artist, Ann Livermore, Anne Gable Allaire, Carol Santora, Joy Biddle, Claudette Gamache, Marilyn Quint-Rose, Pat Eich and Mary Ann Kennedy.

Opportunities to pick up a catalog listing offerings, preview the items and submit silent auction bids will be offered on March 22nd and 23rd from 2-7 pm, and March 24th from 2-5 pm.  Tickets are 8 dollars and can be purchased at the door or in advance at New Morning Natural Foods, the Double Feature or the FPUU church office.
