Music and Choir Schedule

I enjoyed my sojourn in Texas with my family, and I am grateful to Paula Moulton, Jaylene Summers and Vicki Adams for their assistance while I was gone.
I was very proud of our three church ensembles on Sunday, April 27 – The Young People’s Choir sang “Rainforest Song” beautifully, the Spirit Band led the congregation in a spirited rendition of “Blue Boat Home,” and the Adult Choir sang Jim Scott’s “Canticle of Brother Sun” from Missa Gaia by the Paul Winter Consort.
The Adult Choir is singing a cantata for “Music Sunday” on May 4 – come hear some beautiful music, with solos by Margaret Jones and Ian Durham.
On May 15, the Young People’s Choir will meet for the last time this year – something special is being planned. You will hear all three ensembles perform together on RE Sunday, May 18, singing “There Is More Love Somewhere.”
If you would like to join one of our ensembles, now is a great time.  In the next six weeks you could try us out, come to potlucks and celebrations, and find out if it’s something you’d like to do for next year, without making a long-term commitment.

Yours notably,
Kathy Rochon

All Church Camping Trip
Labor Day Weekend August 29 - September 1 - Reserve your spot early

Our (10th?) annual church camping trip will be taking place over Labor Day weekend this year; giving us 3 nights and 4 days to enjoy the beautiful Sebago Lake and Songo River area.
Those who have joined us in the past have enjoyed watching the Canadian Geese play out in front of our tents in the lagoon, quietly spying on the deer feeding near the river, jumping off the rope swing into the river, canoeing up to the Songo River Locks and helping operate the man-made locks while enjoying an ice cream cone, getting a chance to just veg out with no phone calls, and getting to know each other better.
The area is truly gorgeous, with towering pines, convenient campsites, hot showers and pot sinks, hiking trails, a nice sandy beach, softball fields, and plenty of area activities.
The group area will be the same as last years trip (Lagoon 1,2,& 3) with the exception of the area with the lean-to.  The group areas are tenting only, but if you don't own one, don't worry many of us have extras (I have 2 extra family size tents and a small two person available).
The cost will only be a flat $5 for the reservation fee per family plus $3 per person per night.  We will have a pot luck group supper on Saturday night and will need to decide if we want to organize anything for Sunday evening; but there is always a big campfire to gather and sing around.
Bring warm clothing as the evenings can get cold that time of year and turning up the thermostat is sometimes difficult.
If you have any questions or concerns please check with either Kathy or myself.  To reserve your spot please let Kathy, Tracy or Don know as soon as possible.  You can pay through the church office.

Hope to see you all there,  Don & Kathy Rochon (your camping trip hosts)
